Michael Miller is the founder and principal
of MILLERGROUP, Incorporated
Investigations & Protective Services,
established in 1995. Mr. Miller is
licensed
as a Private Investigator and Private
Patrol
Operator with 19 years of investigative
and security experience in the public
and
private sectors, including a background
in law enforcement.
MILLERGROUP, Inc. specializes in highly
complex
and sensitive investigations,
including all aspects of due diligence,
surveillance,
fraud identification, and locating
persons. The firm also provides protective
services for public figures that have
concerns regarding inappropriate pursuers
and/or paparazzi.
Prior to forming MILLERGROUP, Inc.,
Mr. Miller
managed investigations for
Gavin de Becker & Associates, an
internationally
recognized threat assessment
and security-consulting firm. Mr. Miller's
responsibilities included managing
and
conducting sensitive investigations
regarding
both threats against and the
inappropriate pursuit of high profile
media
figures, corporate executives, and
attorneys. Mr. Miller also conducted
complex
investigations for major entertainment,
media and production companies, law
firms,
financial institutions, business
management firms, accounting firms,
and technology
companies. These
investigations included matters of
corruption,
theft, misrepresentation, and due
diligence. Mr. Miller continues to
maintain
an ongoing relationship with the
de Becker firm as an investigative
consultant.
Mr. Miller is a graduate of California
State
University, Sacramento (1986),
with a bachelor's degree in Criminal
Justice.
He is also a graduate with highest
honors of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Academy (1993). Working as a
Reserve Police Officer with the Santa
Monica
and Manhattan Beach Police
Departments, he gathered significant
hands-on
law enforcement experience.
As a Criminal Fraud Investigator for
the
City of New York (1987 to 1989), Mr.
Miller
investigated allegations of fraud in
the
City's public assistance programs.
He
conducted extensive field investigations,
adversarial interviews, and prepared
cases for prosecution by the District
Attorney's
Office. As a private investigator in
New York (1989 to 1991), he conducted
insurance
fraud investigations for the
largest insurance companies and insurance
defense law firms.
